At Tinderbox clay tobacco pipes, we offer a range of hand-made traditional clay tobacco smoking pipes. A ‘clay’ pipe is made from clay and turned to pottery in a kiln at 1100c.Tinder box pipes are twice fired to give a hygienic ceramic glazed pipe tip, not a varnished one. The tip is the part that goes in your mouth. I hand-make Victorian ‘straights’ and curved pipes.
The Pakuranga toastie, the Pakuranga Marbled Clay smoking pipe and white gin pressed pipes are made by original gin pressed process.
The Ladies leg clay smoking pipe appears in the tobacco pipe makers catalogues of the Victorian era: Holland’s and MClardy’s. Slightly risqué in the Victorian era.
I made the straight and curved pipes for the movie ‘The Hobbit’ presented here with a white tipped stem just as required for the movie. In addition, I offer a pipe of my own design: the plain curved Tobacco smoking pipe green glazed tip.

Tinderbox clay tobacco pipes offer several decorative pipes: The Sailors and the small Victorian pipes while functional originally and very small, now the shrinkage factor renders them too small to allow a good-sized bore. These make excellent hat ornaments for fisherman, black powder shooters and steam punk people.
At Tinderbox clay tobacco pipes, I make my own pipe molds and the models used are original pipes. Apart from being slightly smaller than the originals due to shrinkage, they are the same pipe.
